Job summary

UNC Nash Health Care is seeking Area Techs for housekeeping within Nash Hospitals. The role involves maintaining a clean, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff across the hospital.

These positions do not provide direct patient care. Responsibilities include cleaning occupied patient rooms, discharge rooms, and critical areas; entering data into the bed tracking system; inspecting areas; and possibly serving as a team leader to plan tasks and train

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Housekeeping experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions, to include MSDS sheets, policies and procedures.
• Ability to understand verbal communications.

Responsibilities

• Cleans occupied patient rooms (dusts, disinfects, mops, restocks, pulls trash and inspects).
• Cleans discharge rooms in a timely manner for incoming patients.
• Cleans support areas and critical care areas such as nurses stations, lounges, intensive care units and isolation rooms.
• Enters data into the bed tracking system.
• Inspect ancillary and patient areas and projects.
• May serve as a team leader who plans and schedules tasks, makes work assignments, trains staff, controls bed tracking and inspects all areas throughout the hospital.
• Strip, wax, dust mop and damp mop floors. Vacuum, bonnett and extract carpets.
• Trains and instructs new area techs in proper hospital policies and procedures.
