Job summary

UNC Lenoir Health Care is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services team member to provide high-quality, safe cleaning across assigned areas in the hospital setting. The role emphasizes prompt waste removal and coordination with internal teams to uphold a clean, healthy environment for patients and staff.

The position supports upholstery cleaning in various areas and requires teamwork to set up and break down rooms as needed. Evening shift with standard 40-hour workweek is available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months previous experience in floor care preferred.
• Certificate of completion Hospitality Training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides high quality, timely, safe cleaning of assigned areas.
• Communicates with customers and hospital staff to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Removes waste promptly and safely; handles linen transfer as needed.
• Assists in house set ups/break downs of rooms.
• Performs upholstery cleaning in areas assigned, including elevator tracks and stairwells.

Summary

Provides high quality, timely, safe, professional, efficient cleaning of assigned areas. To keep all floors in the building at their highest quality appearance possible. Communicates and cooperates between/among all our customers internal and external in meeting our mission of providing a clean and safe environment and outstanding customer service at all times by removal of waste streams in the house promptly and safely. Remove all soiled linen as needed to keep in route to main soiled linen room on dock. Performs upholstery cleanings in areas assigned, elevator tracks, stairwells, and assist in all house set ups/break downs of rooms.

Responsibilities

Patients and families, associates, other departments' personnel are served in providing our services. Perform duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and hospital. Ensures that contacts with other healthcare team members are friendly, helpful and courteous at all times.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

Minimum 6 months previous experience in floor care preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

Outstanding qualities in all areas of Performance. Consistent grades of 90% on inspections.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Exposed to Housekeeping cleaning agents/chemicals and water frequently. Required Personal Protective Equipment precautions may be exposed to infections and contagious diseases, blood borne diseases. Subject to interruptions. Reference to varying and unpredictable situations. Occasional pressure due to multiple pages, calls and inquiries, emergency and stat situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

Working, standing, benching, lifting, pushing, pulling of linen, carts and boxes daily.
