Job Overview

The Area Supervisor is part of Store Leadership, responsible for a specific area of the store, overseeing general operations, and supervising staff when acting as Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining a friendly shopping environment, ensuring merchandise presentation, and maintaining cleanliness. They also execute and supervise operational processes as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments

• Prioritize safety, practicing safe behaviors daily.
• Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment, correcting or reporting unsafe conditions.
• Manage building security, including entrance/exit control, EAS device checks, cash office security, and security for receiving and trash removal.
• Ensure clear egress to emergency exits and conduct fire alarm tests as scheduled.
• Handle after-hours alarms as needed.

Customer Service

• Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
• Demonstrate professionalism, recognize associates, and ensure a friendly environment.

Store Brand & Merchandising

• Represent and support the company brand at all times.
• Maintain a professional appearance and ensure all areas are clean and merchandised to standard.
• Handle merchandise receiving, processing, and merchandising, including back-stock management and loss reduction.

Loss Prevention

• Follow Loss Prevention programs, maintain a high customer service presence, and safeguard confidential information.
• Maintain PVM system, conduct package inspections, and maximize productivity while minimizing steps.

Front End Supervision

• Ensure front-end standards are met, manage customer lines, and train associates on POS and procedures.
• Control break schedules, equipment functionality, and signage.

Fitting Rooms & Administrative Duties

• Maintain cleanliness of fitting rooms and ensure tags are audited and merchandise is processed correctly.
• Handle cash pulls, bank deposits, and payroll administration.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills and fluency in English.
• Previous customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use store equipment and spend up to 100% of time standing, walking, and moving.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Ability to lift over 25 lbs occasionally.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervise retail associates and stockroom leads where applicable.
