GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific area of the store, overall store operations when acting as Manager on Duty, supervising associates, and maintaining a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. Responsibilities include opening and closing the store, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and maintaining cleanliness. They also execute and supervise operational processes as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:
  • Understand safety as the top priority and practice safe behaviors.
  • Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure safety and security, reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Secure the building, including managing entrances/exits, EAS devices, cash office, and security procedures.
  • Remove clutter, ensure clear emergency exits, and respond to alarms.
Customer Service:
  • Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness, recognizing associates' efforts.
Personal and Store Brand:
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Maintain professional appearance and ensure adherence to dress code.
  • Keep all store areas clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard.
  • Handle daily trash removal.
General Merchandising:
  • Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet standards through teaching and follow-up.
  • Manage merchandise receipt, processing, and organization.
  • Assist with merchandise placement and back-stock security.
  • Reduce damage-related loss and ensure compliance with presentation guidelines.
Loss Prevention:
  • Follow Loss Prevention programs, maintain high customer service presence, and safeguard confidential information.
  • Maintain PVM system and conduct package inspections.
  • Execute company best practices to maximize productivity.
Front End Supervision and Operations:
  • Ensure front-end procedures are followed, maintain pace and energy, and manage customer lines.
  • Train associates on registers and policies.
  • Control break schedules, equipment, and supplies.
Fitting Rooms:
  • Maintain cleanliness and security of fitting rooms.
  • Audit and manage returned merchandise according to policy.
Administrative Duties:
  • Handle cash pulls, bank deposits, and payroll-related tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Previous customer service and supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiarity with POS systems
  • Basic math skills
  • Availability for evenings and weekends
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Ability to operate store equipment, stand, walk, bend, squat, lift over 25 lbs, and work in various physical positions. Specific requirements may vary for stockroom roles.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Retail Associates and Stockroom Leads (if applicable).
