GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor is part of Store Leadership, responsible for a specific store area and overall store operations when acting as Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining a friendly environment, proper merchandise presentation, and executing operational processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:

  • Prioritize safety, practicing safe behaviors at all times.
  • Maintain awareness to ensure a safe shopping environment, reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Secure the building, including entrance/exit control, EAS device checks, and cash security.
  • Keep areas clear and safe for emergency egress.
  • Handle customer safety, accident prevention, and emergency procedures.
  • Test fire alarms and respond to alarms as needed.

Customer Service:

  • Treat everyone with respect and professionalism.
  • Recognize and appreciate associates' efforts.

Personal and Store Brand:

  • Represent the company's brand professionally.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and ensure store cleanliness and merchandising standards.

General Merchandising:

  • Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet standards.
  • Handle merchandise receiving, processing, and organization.
  • Manage back stock and reduce damage-related loss.

Loss Prevention:

  • Follow Loss Prevention programs, maintain a high customer service presence, and safeguard assets.
  • Maintain PVM system and conduct package inspections.

Front End Supervision and Operations:

  • Maximize productivity and ensure standards at the front end.
  • Train associates on cash register procedures and customer flow management.

Fitting Rooms:

  • Maintain cleanliness and accountability in fitting rooms.

Administrative Duties:

  • Handle cash pulls, deposits, payroll, and other administrative tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Experience in customer service and supervision preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS systems.
  • Ability to perform basic math and work flexible hours.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

  • Ability to use store equipment and spend most of the time standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs, with some exceptions for stockroom roles.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Retail associates and stockroom leads (if applicable).
