General Purpose
The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific area of the Store, overseeing operations and supervision when functioning as the Manager on Duty. They handle opening and closing the store, supervising Associates, maintaining a friendly shopping environment, ensuring merchandise presentation, and executing operational processes as needed.
Essential Functions
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:
- Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors in all tasks.
- Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment, reporting unsafe conditions.
- Secure the building, control entrances/exits, check EAS devices, and oversee security measures.
- Keep clear egress routes and handle emergency procedures.
- Test fire alarms and respond to after-hours alarms as needed.
Customer Service:
- Treat all Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect.
- Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism; recognize Associates through company programs.
Personal and Store Brand:
- Represent the Company brand professionally at all times.
- Maintain a professional appearance and enforce dress code adherence.
- Keep store areas clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard.
General Merchandising:
- Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns per standards through coaching and task assignment.
- Handle merchandise receiving, processing, and organization efficiently.
- Manage back-stock and merchandise presentation, minimizing loss and ensuring compliance with presentation guidelines.
Loss Prevention:
- Follow Loss Prevention programs, maintain a strong customer service presence, and safeguard confidential information.
- Maintain PVM system, conduct inspections, and execute best practices to maximize productivity.
Front End Supervision and Operations:
- Ensure front end operations meet standards, manage customer lines, and coach associates on procedures.
Fitting Rooms:
- Maintain cleanliness and compliance of the fitting rooms, ensuring proper tagging and return of merchandise.
Administrative Duties:
- Manage cash pulls, deposits, payroll, and other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Competencies

Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent verbal communication, fluency in English, prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems, basic math skills, ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
- Use of store equipment, standing, walking, bending, lifting over 25 lbs, and other physical tasks.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Retail Associates, Stockroom Leads (if applicable).
