GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific store area and overall store operations when functioning as the Manager on Duty. They oversee opening and closing the store, supervise associates, and maintain a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. Responsibilities include merchandise presentation, cleanliness, and executing operational processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:
- Prioritizes safety, practicing safe behaviors in all tasks.
- Maintains awareness on the sales floor to ensure safety and security.
- Responsible for building security, including entrance/exit control, EAS devices, cash office security, and safety protocols.
- Removes clutter, ensures clear emergency exits, and responds to alarms.
Customer Service:
- Treats all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
- Demonstrates professionalism and recognizes associates' efforts.
Personal and Store Brand:
- Represents the company brand professionally.
- Maintains store cleanliness and proper merchandising standards.
- Responsible for daily trash removal.
General Merchandising:
- Ensures recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet standards.
- Receives merchandise and processes inbound deliveries.
- Maintains organized stockrooms and merchandises the sales floor.
- Reduces loss due to damage and ensures presentation guidelines are followed.
Loss Prevention:
- Follows Loss Prevention programs and safeguards confidential information.
- Maintains PVM system, conducts inspections, and executes best practices to minimize loss.
Front End Supervision and Operations:
- Ensures front-end standards, manages line pace, and trains associates on register procedures.
- Controls break schedules and maintains equipment and supplies.
Fitting Rooms:
- Maintains cleanliness and audits merchandise tags.
- Ensures return compliance and proper tagging.
Administrative Duties:
- Handles cash pulls, deposits, and payroll administration.
- Follows policies for refunds, tills, and cash security.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Fluency in English
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Basic math skills
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Ability to use store equipment, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to lift over 25 lbs occasionally. Specific requirements may vary for stockroom roles.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Retail associates and stockroom leads where applicable.
