Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an Area Superintendent for the Quincy Point/Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI. You will oversee a designated area for the Columbia program, directing daily operations to meet safety, quality, and schedule goals while coordinating with internal teams and external customers.

The role emphasizes leadership, continuous improvement, and effective communication across management levels to ensure production milestones are met and resources allocated

Qualifications

• Must have supervisory experience and lead a team.
• Experience in shipbuilding, manufacturing, or related field.
• Able to work all shifts and extended hours as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a designated area for the Columbia program.
• Direct daily activities of multiple operations to meet goals.
• Monitor safety, quality, schedules, and cost objectives.
• Motivate and develop first-line supervision; promote a positive team.
• Coordinate with external customers (USN, Groton, Newport News).
• Drive continuous improvement and facility enhancements.
• Interface with Human Resources to resolve employee issues.
