Job summary

Highgate Hotels seeks an Area Director of Sales for the Courtyard Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport to lead revenue strategy for the property and surrounding area hotels. You will drive group and transient sales, oversee market performance, and coordinate with revenue management and operations.

The role requires 5+ years in DOSM/sales leadership with strong communication, strategic planning, and budget management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Business or Marketing preferred.
• At least a minimum of 5 years' experience as a DOSM/sales leader, with prior hotel sales experience.
• Area/Regional sales oversight of multi-hotels preferred.
• Experience dealing with/communicating with ownership groups and asset management.
• Proficient in managing/using sales automation (i.e. DELPHI or alternative) & PMS systems.
• Experience working collaboratively with revenue management & operation teams.
• Well‑rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel distribution sources, as well as ability to develop a strategic plan for each.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate & drive a direct sales team; and develop a cooperative & competitive team spirit & winning attitude.
• Must be proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead top line revenue for group and volume transient segments for the primary hotel and oversee area hotels.
• Assess market trends, market share and competitive environment.
• Develop and implement a marketing communications plan and manage the sales/marketing budget.
• Act as the hotel's voice of the customer and communicate key issues at all levels.
• Read and interpret STR data, P&L, and hotel reports for strategic decisions.
• Understand market trends, demand generators, and economic factors affecting hotel performance.
• Conduct competitive set reviews and SWOT analyses; monitor new supply.
• Develop penetration plans for primary markets and manage key accounts.
• Design sales deployment schemes and market assignments.
• Set sales goals to achieve budget and market share targets; manage group pace and travel schedules.
• Lead owner relations and communications for the hotel and area hotels.
