Job description

Area Sales Manager

Location: Remote, In territory

Territory: New Jersey

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Our Area Sales Managers are the face of the rapidly growing team at Downeast Cider, the #1 hard cider in the Northeast and #2 in the country. Your mission will be to increase sales and visibility of Downeast Cider with on-premise and off-premise retail partners in the Garden State. You’ll promote our innovative portfolio of craft hard cider and beyond.

Role Mission:

The Sales Manager oversees daily operations of the distribution sales team, manages and motivates distributor partners, and translates sales strategies into operational actions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Wholesaler Relationship Building: Develop strong connections with wholesaler partners and assist in guiding annual marketing plans.
  2. Account Execution: Manage daily routes of on- and off-premise accounts, ensuring product availability, shelf placement, and brand visibility meet Downeast standards.
  3. Drive Sales: Increase volume, placements, and promotions through relationship-building, education, and merchandising.
  4. Analytical: Analyze sales data to identify opportunities and adjust tactics accordingly.
  5. Organized: Balance wholesaler management with daily account servicing efficiently.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 2-3 years managing wholesalers
  • Experience providing excellent customer service
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle
  • 21+ years old to meet federal and state regulations
  • Reside in the covered territory area
  • Willing to travel 1-2 overnights/month or 4-5 overnights/quarter

Bonus Skills:

  • Outside sales experience
  • Experience in the alcohol industry
  • CRM software proficiency
  • Google Suite skills

Base Salary Range:

$60,000-70,000, with up to 40% variable compensation based on performance. All employment offers are contingent upon a background check.
