Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager in Palatine, IL to lead a team of hourly associates across shift-based operations. You will drive safety, quality, and on-time delivery while engaging and developing staff to meet performance objectives.

Responsibilities include mentoring team members, coordinating with safety, engineering, and operations partners, and managing workload in a fast-paced fulfillment environment. Strong scheduling flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• Do you currently hold a valid and active USA state drivers license?

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources to develop plans to meet business objectives
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
• Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
• Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud
• Work in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather
• Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs)
