Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is hiring an Area Manager in Stockton, CA to lead a team of hourly employees and uphold safety, quality, and performance standards. You will collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, QA, and HR to meet delivery promises.

The role requires 2+ years in people management, a relevant degree, and the ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends. Growth opportunities exist in expanding fulfillment operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, QA, Human Resources to meet business objectives
• Lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk for long shifts
• Work in variable temperatures and weather conditions, including outside loading areas
