Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking an Area Operations Manager for Data Centers to lead large-scale civil infrastructure across multiple geographic areas in the United States. You will oversee earthwork, concrete, underground utilities, paving, and related scopes, typically done with joint ventures or partners.

The role emphasizes safety, schedule adherence, and profitability. You will coordinate with Owners, JV partners, and internal teams to staff, manage contracts, track schedules, and optimize value

Qualifications

• 15+ years in heavy civil construction.
• 10+ years managing construction teams.
• Bachelor’s Degree is a plus.
• Experience with heavy civil, site development, or greenfield industrial projects.
• STS certification preferred.
• Expert knowledge of construction means and methods.
• Proven ability to lead multiple teams across functions.

Responsibilities

• Builds strong relationships with project Owners and JV partners, maintaining regular communication.
• Coordinates with local leadership, project teams, and HR to staff projects.
• Ensures notices, change orders, disputes, and claims are actively managed.
• Reviews project schedules monthly and ensures compliance with timelines and milestones.
• Monitors quantities, costs, and budgets; reviews profitability monthly.
• Ensures timely billing and understands schedule of values.
• Collaborates with safety, finance, controls, and other departments to support projects.
