Job summary

Amazon’s Visalia-area operations are seeking an Area Manager to lead a dynamic hourly team. You’ll drive safety, quality, attendance, and performance while ensuring on-time, accurate customer deliveries within a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, manage 20+ staff, and support continuous process improvements. The role demands flexibility, weekend/nights/holiday availability, and a focus on customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
• Industry experience across retail, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and motivate your hourly workforce to achieve safety, quality, and delivery targets.
• Manage safety, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, HR to meet objectives.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
• Stand/walk up to 12 hours during shifts and work in variable environments.
