Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager to lead a team of hourly staff across our fulfillment network. You will drive safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery while collaborating with Safety, Engineering, and HR to meet business goals.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in people management, a relevant degree, and experience with lean methods. The role requires flexibility, including weekends and nights, and involves lifting and standing during shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, QA, HR to meet objectives.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk up to 12 hours.
• Work in variable temperature environments and on stairs where applicable.
