Job summary

Amazon in California is seeking an Area Manager to lead a team of hourly associates, ensuring safety, quality, attendance, and performance while meeting customer delivery promises. You will oversee daily workflows to support First/Middle/Last Mile objectives and continuously strive to improve throughput and service levels.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
• Work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
• Experience with Lean, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, QA, HR to develop plans to meet business objectives.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
• Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
• Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud.
• Work in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather.
• Continuously climb and descend stairs where applicable.
