Job summary

OnTrac in Nashville, TN seeks an Area Manager to lead and optimize operations at a busy facility. You will oversee sort activities, drive improvements, and ensure safe, efficient performance in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires at least 2 years in logistics with leadership experience, strong data skills, and excellent communication to coach staff and manage daily scope and priorities.

Qualifications

• GED or diploma required; BA/BS preferred in related field.
• At least 2 years in logistics or 3PL with 1 year leadership.
• Strong data analysis and Excel skills; able to present findings.
• Excellent communication; experience in hiring and performance reviews.

Responsibilities

• Manage staffing for an assigned area within the facility to ensure quality standards and safety.
• Monitor employee progress, provide feedback, identify improvements, and address performance.
• Conduct pre-sort meetings and communicate daily goals and safety priorities.
• Record and manage the flow of volume from designated Linehauls.
• Execute administrative duties including safety training and operational audits.

Location

3872 Logistics Way, Bldg B3, Antioch, TN 37013. This position is performed onsite at one of the Company’s operational facilities, unless otherwise specified in the job posting.

Compensation

The expected starting base pay range for this position is $63,840 - $79,800, with a full potential base salary range over a successful candidate’s tenure in the position of $79,800 – 95,760. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.

Shift

Sun/Wed: 3:30 AM – End of Day and Thu/Fri/Sat: from 12:30 AM – End of Day. (Schedule subject to change based on the needs of the business)

Employment Logistics

As an Area Manager for OnTrac, you will report directly to the Operations Manager of the facility and be responsible for managing all the sort activities and volume within an assigned area. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing change to enhance business outcomes within the operation.

The Must-Haves

• GED/Diploma required, BA/BS college degree in related discipline preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of industry experience – (ex. logistics, shipping, 3PL) with at least 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience
• Ability to effectively evaluate and summarize data and present answers to questions
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office and mathematical skills
• Effective communication skills including the ability to give honest, constructive feedback
• Experience with hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, and completing performance evaluations for employees

Your Mission In Motion

• Manage, staff and schedule a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers in an assigned area in the facility to ensure quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
• Monitor employee progress, provide ongoing feedback, identify areas for improvement, and address performance/attendance.
• Conduct pre-sort meetings, keeping employees informed of daily goals, upcoming events, and safety priorities. Maintain an open line of communication to engage employees.
• Record and manage the departures/arrivals of and the flow of volume from designated Linehauls.
• Execute various administrative duties, including but not limited to, safety training, operational audits, and end of shift reporting.
