OnTrac is hiring an Area Manager in Salinas, CA to oversee all sort activities and volume within a specified area. The role requires leading Package Handlers, analyzing operational data, and implementing improvements to drive efficiency.

You will report to the facility Operations Manager and must maintain safety, scheduling, and performance standards in a onsite environment with a schedule that includes early shifts, weekends, and holidays when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in logistics/shipping/3PL with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Ability to evaluate and summarize data and present findings clearly.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; basic math skills.
• Strong communication, feedback, and coaching capabilities.
• Experience in hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, and evaluating staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage and schedule a team of Package Handlers and Lead Handlers in the assigned area.
• Monitor performance, provide ongoing feedback, and address attendance and improvement needs.
• Lead pre-sort meetings; communicate daily goals, events, and safety priorities.
• Track flow of volume from designated Linehauls and manage arrivals/departures.
• Perform safety trainings, audits, and end-of-shift reporting.

OnTrac is hiring an Area Manager in Salinas, CA!

Location: 1149 Madison Ln, Salinas, CA 93907. This position is performed onsite at one of the Company’s operational facilities, unless otherwise specified in the job posting.

Compensation: The expected starting base pay range for this position is $73,920 – 92,400, with a full potential base salary range over a successful candidate’s tenure in the position of $92,400 - 110,880. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.

Shift: Monday through Saturday from 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Schedule subject to change based on business needs)

Employment Logistics

As an Area Manager for OnTrac, you will report directly to the Operations Manager of the facility and be responsible for managing all the sort activities and volume within an assigned area. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing change to enhance business outcomes within the operation.

The Must-Haves

• A minimum of 2 years of industry experience – (ex. logistics, shipping, 3PL) with at least 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience
• Ability to effectively evaluate and summarize data and present answers to questions
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office and mathematical skills
• Effective communication skills including the ability to give honest, constructive feedback
• Experience with hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, and completing performance evaluations for employees

Your Mission in Motion

• Manage, staff and schedule a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers in an assigned area in the facility to ensure quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
• Monitor employee progress, provide ongoing feedback, identify areas for improvement, and address performance/attendance.
• Conduct pre-sort meetings, keeping employees informed of daily goals, upcoming events, and safety priorities. Maintain an open line of communication to engage employees.
• Record and manage the departures/arrivals of and the flow of volume from designated Linehauls.
• Execute various administrative duties, including but not limited to, safety training, operational audits, and end of shift reporting.
