Job summary

Cresten Property Management is seeking an Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of roughly four multifamily communities in the Sioux Falls market. You will lead on-site Property Managers, drive occupancy, revenue, and resident satisfaction, and balance strategic oversight with hands-on day-to-day operations.

This hands-on leadership role requires visiting properties, coaching teams, managing budgets, and coordinating leasing, marketing, and maintenance to achieve top market performance.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of multifamily property management experience.
• Proven track record of improving occupancy and financial performance.
• Strong understanding of leasing, marketing, and operations.
• Experience managing teams and developing Property Managers.
• Familiarity with property management software (Yardi, AppFolio).
• Ability to travel locally between properties in the Sioux Falls area.

Responsibilities

• Drive performance focusing on occupancy, NOI growth, and expense control.
• Monitor leasing and operational KPIs such as occupancy and conversions.
• Supervise, coach, and develop Property Managers and site teams.
• Ensure properties meet market standards for cleanliness and presentation.
• Oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
• Lead leasing efforts and stabilize underperforming assets.
