Job summary

Amazon Inc. is offering a ten-week Area Manager Intern program in one of our operations facilities in New Mexico.

This internship (40 hours/week) gives you hands-on coaching, leadership development, and a chance to manage a team of hourly associates while completing a summer project. You'll learn to coach, motivate, and mentor a team, drive safe and efficient operations, and experience shifts up to 12 hours with nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with completion between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are valued for leading a team.
• Interest in Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to coach, manage and develop a team of 50-100 Amazon Associates.
• Drive standard work and continuous improvement through an intern project.
• Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment.
• Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Willing and able to regularly work shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.
