Job summary

Amazon is hiring an Area Manager in Washington (Spanaway) to lead a team of hourly employees, drive safety, quality, and on-time deliveries, and partner with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, HR to meet objectives. This role requires flexibility across shifts including nights and weekends and lifting requirements up to 49 pounds.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, HR to meet business objectives
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
• Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
• Work in an environment with variable noise and temperatures (delivery stations include outside loading)
• Continuously climb and descend stairs (sites with stairs)
• The role launches new Operations sites and hires Area Managers based on location and openings
