Job summary

Builders FirstSource seeks an Area Manager to direct business development and operations across multiple locations. The role holds P&L accountability and sets location-level sales and merchandising strategies for core products and services.

The position provides leadership at the area level, guiding market strategy, business development, people strategy, product strategy, and key customer initiatives. Success requires a strong background in business management and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Supply chain.
• 8–10 years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Solid knowledge of the building materials industry.
• Computer proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)

• Maintains operational responsibility for multiple locations across an area, potentially including manufacturing operations.

The Area Manager position is responsible for formulating and implementing business strategies which direct business development and operations activities within an area. This role requires the candidate to provide the general direction for an area consisting of multiple locations. Additionally, the Area Manager has P&L accountability within an area.

• Determines location-level sales strategy, and merchandising strategy for assortment of core product and services to offer customers.
• Maintains operational responsibility for multiple locations across an area, potentially including dedicated manufacturing operations.
• Maintains Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability at an area level.
• Provides leadership at an area level, including guiding and influencing market(s) strategy, business development strategy, people strategy, product strategy, and core customer strategy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Supply chain and eight (8) - ten (10) years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Solid knowledge of the building materials industry required. Computer proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.) required
