Clean Team is seeking a reliable, motivated, and people-focused Area Manager to oversee commercial cleaning operations throughout Kentwood and the surrounding Grand Rapids area.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on leadership role. You’ll be responsible for supporting cleaning teams, maintaining strong client relationships, monitoring service quality, and making sure daily operations run smoothly across multiple customer locations.

The Area Manager will balance field supervision, employee support, customer service, and administrative responsibilities. Key duties include:
Lead & Develop Employees: Recruit, train, coach, and support commercial cleaning team members while helping create a positive and accountable work environment.
Monitor Service Quality: Visit customer locations regularly, perform inspections, identify areas for improvement, and ensure cleaning services meet company and contract standards.
Build Customer Relationships: Communicate with clients and respond to service needs, concerns, and special requests in a timely and professional manner.
Coordinate Staffing: Create and adjust schedules, monitor labor hours, help fill staffing gaps, and provide coverage when needed to keep accounts operating successfully.
Manage Supplies & Equipment: Monitor inventory levels and help ensure teams have the cleaning products, equipment, and resources necessary to perform their work.
Maintain Safety Standards: Promote safe work practices, follow OSHA-related chemical handling requirements, and ensure proper building security and closing procedures are followed.
Support Daily Operations: Troubleshoot issues in the field and work independently to keep multiple accounts running efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in management, supervision, team leadership, or operations. Experience in commercial cleaning, hospitality, retail, facilities, or logistics is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, and company leadership.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
A dependable, self-directed approach and the ability to manage priorities while working in the field.
A valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, and a satisfactory driving record, as travel between customer locations is required.
Availability to work evening hours, since many commercial cleaning services are performed outside of traditional business hours.
