Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to investigate and resolve design issues.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and manage multiple projects and contracts.
• Engineering experience related to transportation design and project development.
• Knowledge of roadway design criteria, construction methods, standards, specs and materials.
• Knowledge of transportation project management and project engineering.
• Skill in contract management and change management.
• Skill in using computers and software applications.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret engineering data; prepare clear reports and recommendations.
• Assemble project teams across disciplines to achieve goals and timely completion.
• Manage budgets and modify approved project budgets with approvals.
• Establish communication between VDOT, contractors, agencies and the public; investigate issues and resolve complaints.
• Report project progress to sponsors and senior management; advise on milestones and budget impacts; coordinate team meetings.
