Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Area Maintenance Manager in Baton Rouge to lead a maintenance team, ensure safety, and drive operational excellence. You will blend strategic planning with hands‑on problem solving, balancing preventative maintenance with real‑time issue resolution.

You will mentor technicians and engineers, coordinate with operations, manage contractors, and monitor MHE performance to deliver reliable service. A strong engineering background and leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Engineering Technology or Reliability Engineering, or 2+ years of Amazon RME full-time experience.
• Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• 2+ years of direct leadership/supervisory experience.
• 2+ years of CMMS experience.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office applications experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of service technicians and automation engineers.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures during maintenance activities.
• Design and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to boost operational efficiency.
• Coordinate external contractors while maintaining high-quality service standards.
• Monitor MHE metrics and collaborate with teams to address performance issues.
