Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels Chicago seeks an Area Events Manager to service three Royal Sonesta hotels, coordinating client programs with hotel operations and driving profitability through top-tier event execution.

Reporting to the Area Director of Catering & Conference Services, you will lead pre‑event planning, on‑site management, and post‑event billing while maintaining strong client relationships and mentoring a team of event professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college; catering/conference leadership experience.
• Minimum three years in catering or convention services leadership.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• On-site oversight of client functions to ensure standards are met.
• Lead pre-event planning, client briefings, and site inspections as needed.
• Prepare BEOs, banquet checks, and final billing with accounting.
• Coordinate with Sales and Operations to maximize repeat business.
