Job summary

SGS Consulting seeks an experienced echocardiography technologist to perform transthoracic and transesophageal studies, prep patients, and maintain equipment. You will analyze results and share preliminary findings with the cardiologist, while keeping thorough records and adhering to safety standards.

Participation in ongoing education is expected to stay abreast of echocardiography advancements. This position is on-site in Springfield, IL, with a structured on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification required.
• Previous echo experience required.
• On-call rotation: every 4th week from 5p–7a.

Responsibilities

• Conduct echocardiographic examinations, including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and answering questions.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
• Analyze and interpret echocardiogram results, providing preliminary findings to the cardiologist.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in echocardiography.
