Job summary

Methodist Southlake Medical Center in North Texas is seeking an experienced echocardiography technologist to perform 2D, M-Mode, color Doppler and stress echo under the direction of the non-invasive cardiology team.

The role requires RDCS/ARDMS or RCS certification, BLS (ACLS preferred) and on-call availability. You’ll work a 8x5 day shift (Mon-Fri) with on-call duties and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an associate degree echo program or accredited echo training program; high school diploma acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assures proper patient identification and safety.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Demonstrates understanding of universal precautions.
• Demonstrates understanding of role in fire and disaster.
• Participates in mandatory programs.
• Maintains organized and clean working environment.
• Completes echocardiographic worksheet for physicians review and interpretation.
• Supports department Quality Assurance process through accurate, timely and complete data collection.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and maintains positive professional relationships with peers, physicians and customers.
• Is able to complete assignments independently, to work as a team and can take instruction from supervisors, patients and vendors.
• Resolves conflict and utilize chain of command to help drive appropriate outcomes.
• Demonstrates sound knowledge in response to STAT calls and prioritizes both STAT and routine orders.
• Demonstrates technical proficiency in all echo procedures.
• Can utilize critical thinking to assess patient’s condition for cardiologist care.
• Manages supplies and forms within the budget.
• Participates in required and continuing educations and mandatory trainings.
• Responsible for patient preparation including NPO, transport, electrode placement, IV access, EKG monitoring and patient privacy.
