Job summary

Fairweather in Alaska is seeking an experienced Emergency Response Specialist/Chief to lead on-site emergency response, ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and cost-efficient service delivery across assets. You will serve as On-Scene Commander, coordinate an on-call ER force, manage equipment fleets, train staff, and work with federal and state agencies in spill response, life safety and loss control.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Current, valid driver’s license.
• Associate degree in Fire Science/Emergency Management (or related).
• 10 years leading emergency response volunteers within ICS.
• Certified Firefighter II (IFSAC/Pro Board).
• Certified Fire Service Instructor I (IFSAC/Pro Board).
• AK EMT III or able to obtain within 24 months.
• ICS 100-200 completed.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Alaska laws applicable to emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Serve as On-Scene Commander and lead on-call responders.
• Coordinate training and organize an on-call ER force.
• Develop training programs for external delivery.
• Manage emergency response equipment and centers for readiness.
• Coordinate with Alaska Clean Seas and department policy for compliance.
• Maintain fire prevention programs and pre-fire plans.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Build cross-team relationships to improve interdependencies.
