Heritage Werks, Inc. is seeking an Archivist for an on-site, full-time role in Duluth, GA. The position emphasizes precise cataloging, preservation, and access across diverse projects. You will contribute to digitization decisions and client-facing archival recommendations.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of archival processing, an MLIS with a cataloging focus, and strong project-management skills. The role requires lifting up to 40 lbs and occasional travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of archival processing experience.
• MLIS with Cataloging and/or Archives Specialization.
• Certified Archivist (CA) designation preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and move materials as needed.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for project needs.
• Strong project and time management skills.
• Willingness to work at any location of Heritage Werks as per business requirements.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital archival tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct collection assessments and content surveys.
• Organize and process archival materials, both physically and intellectually.
• Perform descriptive cataloging and apply metadata standards.
• Write clear, accessible finding aids and content inventories.
• Recommend and select assets for digitization.
• Apply preservation best practices.
• Conduct in-depth research and distill findings into concise briefs.
• Learn client histories and champion archival recommendations in a consultative role.
