Job summary

HeritageWerks in Duluth, GA seeks a Senior Archivist to lead and activate archival initiatives for diverse clients. You will guide assessment through activation, organizing and describing materials, and ensuring archival integrity while delivering strategic value.

You will mentor staff, manage timelines, and collaborate across archival, digitization, and client teams. Occasional travel and onsite work are expected as part of project needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive archival processing and project experience.
• MLIS with Archives and/or Cataloging specialization; CA preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex archival projects and client engagements.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Self-starter with deadline orientation and ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Lead archival initiatives from assessment through activation with clients and internal teams.
• Organize, process, and describe archival materials; perform advanced cataloging.
• Write and review finding aids; draft inventories and curate assets for digitization.
• Apply preservation best practices and conduct gap analysis.
• Collaborate with businesses, cultural institutions, and sports teams on archival applications.
• Mentor archivists and project staff; manage workflow planning and timelines.
• Balance independent ownership with cross-functional collaboration across teams.
