A leading independent girls' school in Boston seeks a full-time Archivist/Library Assistant. This role involves managing archival collections, supporting library operations, and engaging with the community. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and experience in archival work, with strong organizational and communication skills.
The Winsor School, founded in 1886, is an independent girls’ school serving grades five through twelve, located in Boston’s Longwood Medical and Academic Research area. This full-time role is split approximately equally between the archives and the library. The archives work involves preserving Winsor’s history, making materials accessible, and strengthening community ties. The library responsibilities include supporting library operations and assisting students and staff.
The position reports to the Director of Strategic Communications and the Library Director, with transitional support from the current archivist and archivist emerita.
Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
