Qualifications

• Masters degree in library science or information science from an ALA-accredited institution with a demonstrated understanding of archives and special collections.
• Familiarity with archival and special collections standards and best practices.
• Experience working with print and digital archival collections.
• General knowledge of metadata schema, including Extended Dublin Core.
• General knowledge of web site development and maintenance; HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript; image optimization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement print and born-digital workflows for archives.
• Manage the ARB Law Library website and discovery of print/digital content.
• Oversee processing, cataloging, and preservation of in-house materials; coordinate with outside vendors as needed.
• Serve on Libraries or University-wide teams to create workflow and discovery/access solutions.
• Organize online access to born-digital and print materials collected for collections or records management.
• Maintain web applications on the law library website and support UC Libraries sites.
• Provide reference service for archival materials.
• Supervise student assistants as needed.
• Promote the collection through blog posts, social media, and other platforms.
