Job summary

South Texas College is seeking an Library Archives Manager to lead the Historical Legacy Archives, shape workflows for physical and digital collections, and supervise staff. The role develops district-wide exhibits and educational displays for students, faculty, staff, and the community.

The position oversees digitization workflows, metadata standards, and collaboration with departments on records management. Strong supervisory and archival expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library and Information Studies from an ALA-accredited institution or in archival studies or a related field.
• At least four years of library or archives experience.
• At least two years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in archives and/or special collections in an academic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage archival collections, including accessioning, arranging, describing, and preserving materials.
• Develop and maintain archival workflows and born-digital materials documentation.
• Ensure preservation across formats including paper, artifacts, born-digital, and audiovisual content.
• Develop digitization processes, evaluate equipment, and maintain metadata and storage standards.
• Collaborate with other departments on records management procedures and exhibits.
