Job summary

South Texas College in Texas seeks a Library Archives Manager to organize, describe, preserve, and share the STC Historical Legacy Archives. You will develop workflows for physical and digital materials, supervise staff, and coordinate district-wide exhibits and educational displays for students and the community.

The role requires a Master’s in Library and Information Studies (ALA-accredited) or archival studies, plus 4+ years of library/archives experience and 2+ years of supervisory

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field required from an ALA-accredited program or archival studies.
• At least four years of library or archives experience required.
• Two years of supervisory experience required.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of archival theory and metadata standards (DACS, EAD).

Responsibilities

• Manages the STC Historical Legacy Archives collections per professional standards.
• Develops and maintains archival workflows, including born-digital materials.
• Oversees digitization processes and accurate metadata organization.
• Collaborates with college departments on records management and exhibits.
• Plans district-wide exhibits and presentations to educate stakeholders.
• Supervises and trains assigned staff and reports to leadership.

Education

Master’s Degree in Library and Information Studies

4+ years of library or archives experience

2+ years of supervisory experience

Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication

Strong computer skills (MS Office)

Knowledge of archival theory and metadata standards (DACS, EAD)
