Job summary

The University of Virginia's Albert & Shirley Small Special Collections Library seeks federal work‑study students to support archival processing and access services. The role requires a minimum commitment of 7 hours per week and a 10‑hour schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, from August 25, 2026 to May 14, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Organize and shift archival boxes and shelves.
• Confirm call numbers against catalog records and shelve items.
• Label and barcode boxes and verify inventories.
• Assist in preparing materials for transfers to off-site storage.
• Retrieve manuscripts and other items for researcher requests and use in reading room; coordinate with Public Services.
• Contribute to special projects for Technical Services as needed.
