Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Columbus, OH is seeking Architecture Interns to contribute to world-class design and develop construction documents across corporate, healthcare, research, institutional, and other sectors.

You will collaborate with project teams of architects, designers, and engineers to craft design solutions, assist in client presentations, programming, shop drawing review, and construction administration, while learning in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

  • Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field.
  • NAAB accreditation strongly preferred.
  • Currently enrolled, in good standing, in a related program.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship/related consulting experience preferred.
  • Active involvement in campus or community organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn and grow in the field.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Global Facilities

The Global Facilities group is responsible for the planning and design of manufacturing facilities, district energy systems, data centers and mission-critical facilities. This includes work across diverse industries, including aerospace, space and defense, food and beverage, life sciences and technology, consumer products, healthcare and advanced manufacturing, guiding projects from site selection through startup.

Qualifications
  • Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field from a recognized, accredited program.
  • NAAB accreditation strongly preferred
  • Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
Compensation

$17.75-33.00 Hourly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.
