Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking Architecture Interns to work with project teams of architects, designers and engineers on a variety of projects, including corporate, healthcare, research, and government facilities. Responsibilities include design, documentation and specification development, with opportunities for client presentations and construction administration.

Qualifications

  • Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education or certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship.

Job description

Description

Our Architecture Interns work collaboratively with our project teams of architects, designers and engineers to create world class design on a variety of projects including corporate, healthcare, research, institutional, mission critical, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, airport, government, and military. Primary responsibilities include design, construction documentation and specification development. Other responsibilities may include client presentations, programming, shop drawing review and construction administration. Assists in developing solutions to technical problems. Other duties as assigned.

Global Facilities

The Global Facilities group is responsible for the planning and design of manufacturing facilities, district energy systems, data centers and mission-critical facilities. This includes work across diverse industries, including aerospace, space and defense, food and beverage, life sciences and technology, consumer products, healthcare and advanced manufacturing, guiding projects from site selection through startup.

Qualifications
  • Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field from a recognized, accredited program.
  • NAAB accreditation strongly preferred.
  • Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
