Job description

Architecture, Engineering & Construction Archivist (Temp)

This role is responsible for assisting with managing and preserving the records and documents related to architectural, engineering, and construction projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists with transferring electronic data from the share drive to Laserfiche
  • Captures and stores source materials electronically (i.e., closeouts, construction documents, and project assessment photos) using provided computerized systems and equipment
  • Creates and maintains inventories and descriptions using AEC standard naming conventions; creates searchable files in assigned locations to facilitate access and use
  • Assists with preserving, utilizing, and promoting archived records and AutoCad/Revit files to help TCCD Real Estate and Facilities and outsource firms
  • Assists the Assistant Director in processing and creating metadata for physical and electronic record holdings
  • Assists with organizing mobile shelving for project closeouts and flat files for construction documents
  • Assists with arranging and describing archived materials according to well established archival principles and recordkeeping standards
Service Excellence
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
  • Works under the general supervision of the assigned department leader
Additional Tasks

Performs other related tasks as required.

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and one (1) year's working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements or any equivalent combination of education and work‑related experience
  • One (1) year's working experience with AutoCad and Revit
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Architecture/Design
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of document scanning methodologies and applications
  • Knowledge of architecture terminology and industry naming convention standards
  • Knowledge of AEC Archive and recordkeeping principles and practices
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
  • Skilled in oral, electronic, and written communications
  • Skilled using computerized applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software, and Laserfiche
  • Ability to read design documents and understand construction design phase
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast‑paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
