Job summary

Zohorecruit seeks a Director of Architecture to lead the Architecture Department in Columbus, balancing executive oversight with active design work. The role requires mentoring staff and driving strategic growth of the practice while maintaining technical excellence and client relationships.

Ideal candidates bring 12–15+ years of experience across PM, operations, and design leadership, with licensure and a strong background in codes, QA/QC, and construction administration.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture and RA license.
• 12–15+ years of progressively responsible architectural experience spanning PM, operations, and design leadership.
• Mentoring junior staff and growing an architecture team.
• Strong technical expertise in architectural design, construction documents, building codes, QA/QC, and construction administration.
• Proven track record managing project finances, department utilization, and client relationships.
• Public-sector/federal and multidisciplinary A/E project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Architecture Department operations and growth while balancing executive oversight with direct design engagement.
• Mentor younger staff and drive strategic development of the architecture practice.
• Maintain high technical quality and focus on client service and project outcomes.
• Manage department finances, utilization, and relationships with clients and stakeholders.
