This role is integral to the design and development process, focusing on translating architectural concepts into detailed technical drawings and specifications for a range of commercial projects. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure designs are technically sound, compliant, and aesthetically considered. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications for commercial projects.
• Translate conceptual designs into buildable technical documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and South African National Standards (SANS).
• Liaise with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, and other consultants.
• Prepare documentation for building permit applications.
• Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and monitor construction progress.
• Assist in the selection of building materials and finishes.
• Resolve technical issues that arise during the design and construction phases.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
• Utilize architectural software to produce high-quality drawings and models.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology or a related field.
• Professional registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) as an Architectural Technologist is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural technology, with a focus on commercial projects.
• Proficiency in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
• Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and material science.
• Excellent technical drawing and detailing skills.
