Job summary

NBBJ is seeking an Architectural Specifications Writer to join Studio N on a nationwide basis, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams across healthcare, education, commercial, and civic projects. The role focuses on creating and coordinating project manuals, contract provisions, and specifications aligned with BIM and drawings.

The Intermediate to Senior writer will lead specification development, enforce quality standards, and advance sustainability criteria in documentation.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Experience as architect, engineer, or construction manager with focus on specifications.
• Knowledge of AIA MasterSpec content and specification tools.
• Proficiency with MS Word and collaboration platforms.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate Project Manual and Contract Conditions.
• Integrate specifications with drawings/BIM and other disciplines.
• QA/QC reviews of deliverables and submittals.
• Develop firm-wide specification masters and standards.
• Research materials and sustainability requirements.
• Support project teams across multiple office locations.
