Job summary

NBBJ seeks an Architectural Specifications Writer to join Studio N and support project teams across the firm in producing contract documents and project manuals. This role involves technical consulting, coordination with drawing/BIM sets, and QA/QC reviews across multiple project types.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Intermediate Writer: 5+ years as architect/engineer/construction manager with focus on specs.
• Senior Writer: 10+ years as architect/engineer/construction manager with focus on specs.
• Experience with AIA MasterSpec content.
• Experience with specification authoring tools and collaboration software.
• Familiarity with sustainability credentials (LEED/WELL/etc.) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Integrate with project teams and set direction for project goals and scope.
• Prepare the Project Manual and the Conditions of the Contract.
• Coordinate specifications with drawings/BIM and with engineering/other disciplines.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of deliverables.
• Support Construction Administration through submittals, substitutions, and RFIs.
• Develop and maintain firm-wide specification masters.
