We are seeking a highly experienced Architectural Project Manager to lead the delivery of architectural projects for national brands across multiple markets.
This role is responsible for managing projects from early planning and design through construction documentation, permitting, bidding, and construction administration. The ideal candidate combines strong architectural knowledge with disciplined project management, excellent consultant coordination, and the ability to maintain control of scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
You will serve as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams while ensuring that projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple architectural projects from project initiation through construction completion.
- Establish and manage project scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, and staffing requirements.
- Coordinate architectural, engineering, specialty consultant, and vendor teams.
- Manage project documentation, drawing production, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and revisions.
- Review construction documents for technical accuracy, coordination, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Lead project meetings and maintain clear action items, decisions, schedules, and responsibilities.
- Coordinate with national brand stakeholders to maintain brand standards across multiple locations.
- Manage permitting and agency coordination, including responses to plan-review comments.
- Support contractor bidding, negotiations, and construction administration.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, conflicts, scope gaps, and schedule impacts.
- Review consultant deliverables and coordinate interdisciplinary drawing sets.
- Conduct site visits and field observations as required.
- Review payment applications, change orders, and other construction-phase documentation.
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure contractual and administrative requirements are met.
- Mentor project architects, designers, and junior project managers.
- Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes, documentation standards, and team efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional architectural experience, with significant project-management responsibility.
- Professional degree in Architecture or a related field. Certifications such as PMP or LEED AP are strong assets.
- Proven experience managing projects through construction documentation and construction administration.
- Strong understanding of building codes, accessibility requirements, construction methods, and architectural detailing.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and project-management/documentation platforms.
- Excellent architectural background with proficiency in Architecture and the development of Construction Drawings specifications, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field conditions.
- Exceptional skills in team leadership, stakeholder coordination, written/verbal communication, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to identify technical issues early and develop practical, cost-conscious solutions.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Experience
- Retail, fitness, hospitality, restaurant, or other multi-location commercial projects.
- Experience with national rollouts or prototype-based programs.
- Experience working directly with corporate clients and brand standards.
- Experience managing projects across multiple geographic markets.
- NCARB certification and/or active architectural registration.
