Job summary

Cole & Denny Architects seeks an Architectural Project Manager to lead projects from planning through construction in Baltimore. You will coordinate internal teams, consultants, and clients to align scope, schedule, and budget, while mentoring staff and upholding quality control.

Responsibilities include overseeing design development, reviewing drawings, managing submittals and RFIs, and supporting construction administration activities on diverse architectural projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture; licensure preferred or progress toward licensure.
• Strong project coordination with scheduling, budgeting and stakeholder communication.
• Experience in architecture design development and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with construction drawings and construction administration workflows.
• Knowledge of submittals, RFIs, and related documentation.
• Understanding of LEED principles and sustainable design practices.
• Ability to work on-site, manage multiple projects, and communicate clearly with clients and contractors.
• Familiarity with building codes, standards, and permitting processes; commercial/institutional projects beneficial.

Role Description

The Architectural Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Baltimore, MD. This position manages projects from early planning through construction, coordinating internal teams, consultants, and clients to keep scope, schedule, and budget aligned. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing design development, reviewing construction drawings and specifications, managing submittals and RFIs, and supporting construction administration activities. The role involves leading project meetings, tracking progress, resolving design and coordination issues, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. The Architectural Project Manager also mentors team members, supports quality control, and contributes to sustainable and efficient design solutions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in architecture, including design development and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with construction drawings and familiarity with construction administration processes.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a closely related field; professional licensure or progress toward licensure preferred.
• Proficiency in relevant design and documentation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools) and standard office applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively on-site, manage multiple projects, and communicate clearly with clients, consultants, and contractors.
