Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team seeks an entry-level Architectural Intern to contribute to innovative design solutions with licensed Architects. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, applying sustainable design concepts and BIM/CAD tools to develop concepts, drawings, and models.

You will participate in various market sectors, supporting planning, design, and documentation efforts while developing toward licensure and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Revit and AutoCad; experience using BIM/CAD professionally.
• Healthcare or education project experience is preferred.
• Good presentation and rendering skills are desired.
• Ability to coordinate construction document production across disciplines.
• Solid understanding of building systems and constructability.
• Strong listening and communication skills with clients and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments.
• Familiar with codes, accessibility, life-safety, and related standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with Adobe Suite, SketchUp, Lumion is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Team member on projects in corporate, academic science, technology and municipal markets.
• Contribute to design solutions using sustainable practices and BIM models.
• Conceptualize place making and building design within client requirements and budget.
• Develop designs through sketches, models, diagrams, and massing studies.
• Create 3D models and construction documents with BIM/CAD tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Coordinate building systems to align with design intent.
• Support pre-design efforts and program development.
• Stay with projects from planning through design, bidding and construction phases.
• Assist site surveys, review submittals, and engage with professional organizations.
