Job summary

Stantec Buildings Government Services invites applications for an entry level Architectural Designer. You will assist with design development under supervision and collaborate acrossArchitects and Design Coordinators in a hybrid in-office/remote setting.

The role emphasizes BIM workflow using Autodesk Revit to create 3D building models and prepare construction documents, with involvement in project reviews and coordination sessions across teams and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams in the development of a design through sketches, physical models, digital models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
• Utilize Autodesk Revit and other BIM technologies to develop three-dimensional building models and utilize it as a tool in the production of construction documents.
• Keep the Project Manager informed of progress on expectations, deadlines, and deliverables that fall within their responsibility. Participate in team meetings, charrettes and coordination sessions.
• Participate in internal project reviews and critiques.
• Prepare and revise documentation during all project phases. Develop drawings, such as site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details.
• Coordinate building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
• Assist in contract administration tasks, such as submittal review and construction site visits.
• Assist in monitoring and coordination of consultant work and deadlines.
• Participate in project coordination and meetings with internal team members, external consultants, and/or clients.
• Implement sustainable design principles into the building design and surrounding environment.
• Assist in site analysis and research of design concepts, benchmarks, materials, typologies, and precedents.
