Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope in Houston, TX seeks an estimator to provide detailed, timely estimates for architectural aluminum systems, including curtainwalls, storefronts, and skylights, by analyzing architectural plans and specifications.

You will develop BOMs, cost analyses, and bid packages, using Bluebeam and Excel to support pricing, and contribute to project wins through accurate take-offs and value engineering options.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of estimating experience in commercial glazing or architectural metal.
• Advanced proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu for digital take-offs and strong Excel for cost analysis.
• Deep understanding of glazing systems including curtainwall and storefronts.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical details to customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed take-offs for aluminum and related hardware using digital tools.
• Develop BOMs for complex projects including curtainwalls and storefronts.
• Review Division 08 specifications to ensure system compliance.
• Calculate total project costs including materials and labor.
• Prepare and submit bid packages and quotations to glazing/general contractors.
• Collaborate with engineering and sales to offer VE options and win projects.
