Our rapidly growing Industrial Engineering team includes process, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, geotechnical, and civil disciplines. This division specializes in EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets like Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy, Water, and Utilities.

Location

This position is based in our Lenexa, KS office with relocation assistance available.

Responsibilities

• Use recognized engineering techniques and procedures to conduct estimates and adhere to company policies.
• Review owner plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project and create construction plans for estimating.
• Create subcontract bid packages based on owner plans and specifications.
• Identify required design deliverables by discipline and ensure delivery schedules are met.
• Review architectural drawings and specifications for building-related systems to prepare bid packages for subcontractors.
• Understand project construction methods, sequence, and challenges; collaborate with discipline leads to formulate comprehensive plans.
• Consult with the estimate team on issues during bid preparation, design, rates, and schedules.
• Conduct technical bid analysis and review submittals for practicality.
• Communicate critical issues and assumptions to the manager to ensure alignment.
• Prepare for estimate reviews and monitor key estimating metrics.
• Stay updated on industry trends and facilitate cross-discipline communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction, design, or subcontract management.
• Understanding of Metal Building Structures and basic building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with building codes and EPC/Design-Build workflows.
• Experience in all phases of building project design and construction, including value engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Navisworks, and estimating software like InEight Estimate or HardDollar.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Motivated, ethical, and a team player capable of working independently to meet deadlines.
