Job summary

IA Interior Architects in New York is seeking an Architectural Designer/Job Captain to support design development and contract documents under supervision of senior staff. You will contribute to CDs, budget tracking, and coordination with consultants within a fast-paced interiors practice.

Required are a degree in architecture or design and at least 5 years in corporate interior design. Expect collaboration with leaders, attention to codes, and a hands-on role across project phases.

Qualifications

Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience accepted.
Minimum 5 years’ work experience on corporate interior design projects.
Strong knowledge of design principles and standards.

Responsibilities

Creates construction documents (CDs) and reviews for compliance with firm standards, codes, and ADA; may oversee CD production on smaller projects.
Manages project through the contract administration phase.
Coordinates with engineering consultants to ensure design solutions and timely document submissions.
Manages contract administration budget and reports variances to senior staff and client.
Conducts client interviews to determine technical requirements for the design.
